Known For
  • Founded in 1903, Kennecott's Bingham Canyon Mine is one of the top-performing mines in the world and has provided more wealth for the state of Utah than any other company.  The mine operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Copperton Park is a beautiful park, filled with 100-year-old trees in the quaint town of Copperton.
History
  • Copperton was established by the Utah Copper Company in 1926 to provide housing and a “model City” for its employees. It emerged as a “showplace for company-subsidized family life.”
  • Copperton is the only mining town remaining for the Bingham Canyon Mine after Lark was torn down in 1980. Currently, only a handful of residents work for the mine.
