The first step in the exploration process (which is currently underway) was to form a Storm Water Fee Executive Committee. This committee consists of representatives from each of the municipal township and the unincorporated area, technical staff, and an MSD administrative representative. The committee was formed in March 2018.

The committee is currently in the process of meeting regularly with the project consultant, to review initial findings of the technical analysis, provide feedback and direction on how the storm drain fee should be structured, and otherwise assist the project team carry out the study (see Project Timeline for more details).
