In 2022, Copperton received a grant of $73,500 from the Wasatch Front Regional Council (WFRC) TLC Program. The grant will be used to fund an Active Transportation Plan and Connectivity Ordinance for the Town. The Active Transportation Plan will establish a vision for walking and biking in the community and identify needed projects to help achieve that vision. The Connectivity Ordinance will provide Copperton with a land use ordinance to protect its existing gridded street network and ensure that any new development follows the same principles of connectivity and respect to the natural topography.
The consultant selection committee chose a local firm, Township + Range, to lead the effort. Completion is anticipated in 2024.
